About

About the Artist:

Logan was practically born on the water. From a very young age he has been obsessed with life below the surface. His parents say that as a child he never stopped talking about, and asking to go fishing. He earned degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biological Engineering at Montana State University, but his friends would tell you that he actually majored in fly fishing and fly tying. He has put these real and fake degrees to use, with experience as a professional engineer and a fly shop employee. He recently gained the honor of "Umpqua Signature Fly Tyer", to boot. He is happily married to a wonderful gal that has a habit of out-fishing him. His passion for things that swim is ever-present in all areas of his life, especially his artwork! Here is a bit from him:

"Fly fishing is much more than a hobby to me; it is the perfect excuse for adventure, serenity, the thrill of pursuit, and memories made with loved ones. I have spent more of my time chasing things with fins and scales than I would like to admit, and there isn’t a day that passes where I don’t think about that next “fish of a lifetime”, be it a giant brown trout, a tailing permit, or a wild pacific steelhead. Fish like these are some of God’s most fantastic artwork in my opinion, and I do my best to depict them in a manner that captures their true beauty. My artwork is a reflection of my passion, and I am excited to share it.

My art is hand-crafted in Kalispell Montana, a stone’s throw from Glacier National Park. I draw all of my own designs, cut them to shape, and grind texture into the metal’s surface. I then meticulously airbrush each piece by hand in such a way that allows light to refract off of the textured metal below the paint’s surface, bringing each piece to life."
